Brief history of your character (100-200 word minimum): Darcy was born to a sixteen year old girl in Charleston, South Carolina and was at once given up for adoption as was the girl's plan during most of the pregnancy. Her new family had no children and had tried getting pregnant for a year prior but it never took. Rae and Rhita Lewis were both native South Carolinians and married five years before the adoption of Darcy was had. Rae was (and still does) working for a construction company and Rhita was (and is now retired) a junior high art teacher. Darcy was everything they wanted, even if she was a semi difficult baby at times, and the adoption was kept open but her biological mother never visited past three months.
Darcy was two when her parents gave it another go at having a child and luckily, this time, it worked. It still took several months but Amy Lewis was born by the time Darcy was turning three. She was five when Rae Lewis Jr. was born and after that, his birth being the most difficult, Rhita was told she could no longer have children.
Darcy had been told from a young age about her adoption, as it was not only an open adoption where the mother might want to see Darcy at some time in the future, but their personal opinion that honesty at a young age was good parenting. Darcy wasn't completely blindsided by this, as she was still so young that it didn't quite make sense, but the older she got the more she showed signs of this not sitting well with her.
When she was in elementary school she had the roughest time with it. Not only did her family move from South Carolina to Virginia, but Darcy began to notice differences between her and her siblings and parents. Amy and Rae were both blondes like her mom with a tendency to be more lean and scrappy. Amy was always considered very pretty of the three and Rae, even at a young age, showed signs of being talented athletically in a way Darcy was not inclined. Darcy found herself comparing her looks and talents to her siblings and would grow depressed when it came coupled with bullying at school about her not being pretty or being too weird for whatever reason the other kids didn't like. Once, she even tried to bleach her hair to make herself look more blonde and had to have it cropped short when her mother found her crying with spotty looking hair, damaged from the household bleach she tried to use. There were even a few times when she would fight with her parents and become agitated when she thought they loved her siblings more than her, or she would simply fight with her siblings, but eventually after a lot of talks about her adoption with her parents and "Family meetings" where they discussed it with her brother and sister, she found herself more at peace with her adoption.
That wouldn't be had until she was going into high school.
In high school she excelled in her humanities and history courses, took a keen interest in government, economics, and political sciences and when she was a sophomore she became very aware of making her transcript look good for colleges. With an interest in political science she ended up focusing most of her essay work on the topic and got accepted into Culver University of Virginia, known for not only for it's excellent science programs but for it's history and political science programs as well.
It was during her second semester at the university that she met Calvin Harris. Calvin was the first boy to show interest in her that she ever really liked back. In high school she never seemed interested in being with anyone when she was trying so hard to get prepared for college, but once she realized college wasn't as tough as she thought she was open to dating. He asked her out and she said yes and things progressed as naturally as breathing air.
Until he cheated on her. But Darcy, having never been in a serious relationship before, seemed desperate for this to work. It was three months in and she thought she was in love, so she forgave him. Not long after other traits of Calvin came out that she wasn't prepared for. He was prone to heated arguments with her, especially if he came over to her dorm and had been drinking. He was an awful drunk and only had to put his hands on her once for her to finally call it quits.
Calvin didn't take the break up well at all and Darcy felt increasingly unsafe. On a break from school she ended up coming clean to her parents about what happened. Her father's reaction was to insist she get a gun permit and a gun, but Darcy wouldn't. So instead he invested in buying her the taser she became known for carrying. Her mother ended up purchasing Darcy an Ipod touch, knowing that Darcy had a major love for music. She knew the ipod would be well used and Darcy at once used it to take photos of her family and her old home.
When she returned early from the break things were still incredibly tense with Calvin and seeking a way to avoid him she ended up applying for a position as an intern for Jane Foster. It wasn't in a field she knew anything about, really, but she was desperate to find a way to spend more time away from the school and the internship called for her to go to New Mexico if she got it.
She was the only applicant and Jane Foster was desperate for the intern she didn't have, so Darcy got the job.
She never really mentioned the real reason behind her wanting to do the internship and Jane didn't push for it. Darcy worked hard doing everything from data entry and report building to gathering information and making Jane coffee and food on days when Jane and Dr. Selvig were too busy to think to do it themselves. She was the odd one out but still part of the team and one night...
One night, Thor of Asgard was banished from his realm and the super storm it caused was witnessed by Darcy, Jane, and Selvig. Jane caused their van to hit the man and when they got out to see who he was and if he was okay, he got up and acted very much like an angry drunk. Darcy was having none of that and tased the bajeezus out of him at once, claiming she was freaked out by the guy.
The mystery of Thor, the storm, and the creepy dudes in suits that stole all their research, computers, machines, and even Darcy's ipod (she tried not to panic about it but was internally upset about the loss), all ended up being solved when Thor was revealed to legit be Thor: God of Thunder and Prince of Asgard.
After an epic battle in the small city, one that completely freaked out the citizens and put them in grave danger, Thor left with the promise to return to not only see Jane again (they were totally hot for each other and Darcy totally knew it before Jane even kissed the guy) but to be an ally to the creepy suit dudes who were known to be S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.
All of their research and items were returned, even Darcy's ipod, and Jane was recruited to come work for them to help build the research needed to see Thor again. Darcy was lucky to be included as Jane relied on her to help with data entry, collection, and basically everything besides the legit scientific research. Darcy's schooling was paid for by S.H.I.E.L.D. but she ended up doing most of it online as she continued to work with Jane.
At one point they were even moved out to Norway but the real reason wasn't for more important research, it was because at the same time Thor's brother had come to Midgard seeking revenge and wanting to invade Earth with an alien army.
A week after that ended and with prospects of getting to return home soon, Darcy found herself on a strange Island that was neither Norway or America.
Brief synopsis of your character's personality (100 word minimum):
Darcy is the kind of person who knows a little about a lot. She isn't an expert in any one thing though if she were to claim knowing more than most about certain things it would either be something related to political science or history, music in the sense of artists and songs most people aren't aware of, or really dumb movie trivia. She can feel pretty lame sometimes when she compares herself to experts in any field... like Jane, Selvig, or even her own brother who is an amazing football player. Darcy tries not to focus too much on that though and works hard at being the best at whatever she is doing so she can say she excels at something, even if its being able to do the best damn data entry anyone has ever seen in their entire lives.
She can be fairly awkward in a sort of…. loud, obnoxious way until she feels comfortable with someone. Sexually speaking, she doesn’t mind flirting but she is a goof about it or does it in an angry sort of way like she is meeting some flirt-off challenge or something. For the quiet, sweet, shy Darcy you’ll need to really blow her mind and get her out of awkward goof or angry loud mouth territory.
Darcy is a talker, maybe too much (as noted above, she can be obnoxious) but she can at least say she isn't ever too shy at first and this is a tactic she uses to make sure she doesn't come off awkward and it can backfire a lot when people don't care for how much she talks. She can be easily taken by gossip and a need to know things to feel like she isn't left out of the loop, which makes her curious and at times, too curious.
She has a love for the arts as instilled in her by her mother but this tends to come out most in her love for music. Music is the thing that often helps her do her work if she keeps it playing, it can help her sleep if it's the right sounds and calming enough, and it can help her channel her emotions. She can't sing, she can't really play an instrument (she assumes, has never actually tried but is a bit nervous about trying and failing miserably at it), but she appreciates music none the less. She also has no real talent for drawing or dancing but in actuality, though she doesn't realize it very much, she has the rhythm for dancing and could be good if she tried to learn to dance. She hasn't though and feels silly dancing unless it is in a big enough crowd that people don't notice.
If people bigger than her try to be violent toward her then her instinct is to use her taser. If not, it's to run and hide. She has only the most basic training in self defense but her instincts usually have her so freaked out that she will try to get away before fighting back without her taser. If she has to fight she will likely get her ass kicked because she isn't that great of a fighter.

Or at least, noticeable if she isn't wearing a jacket or sweater to hide her assets from others. Likely, on the island, she will be too hot to do this and will end up wearing her basic outfit of jeans and t-shirts. Thus, most might notice she is fairly chest heavy and somewhat thicker than most girls. She has a larger nose (larger compared to most, she thinks) wide, blue eyes, and naturally very plump lips. She has just past her shoulder length, dark hair that is nearly a brown-black with hints of reddish undertones which tend to come out more if she is out in the sun a lot. Naturally, her hair is curly so she has to straighten it otherwise it will be pretty curly at all times. She has a need for glasses but has contacts as well and no real preference for one over the other. Darcy doesn't often wear a lot of jewelry unless she is dressing up and if she is dressing up she likes to use color and will occasionally then wear dresses. Otherwise her normal outfit is jeans, a shirt (band shirt or something you might see sold at Target with faded logos for Coke or something), black converse sneakers, a knit cap or military style cap, and if it is cold enough she wears sweaters or solid colored hoodies.

What skills/abilities does your character have?:
Darcy is an excellent typist and excels in most basic and some advanced secretarial duties. She is an excellent reader so if someone ever needed something sped read and understood she would be a good candidate. Darcy is also fairly good at taking a complex idea that may baffle someone else and whittle it down to basic terms and concepts that help make it better understood. In this way she might one day make for a good teacher or possibly a trainer for certain tasks. She has basic knowledge of things like.. changing a tire, or oil for a car but is not that well versed on anything else to be considered an expert. She can also tell you the difference between various types of nails, screws, and basic tools as learned from her father but again nothing overly advanced.

Any special articles of clothing, however, e.g. a team uniform, must be listed): Her Ipod touch, her Ipod touch docking station that has speakers and can charge her Ipod, two sets of earrings she got from her mom (one is a pair of silver owls, the other are tiny golden heart studs), her taser, one small painting of her old home done by her mom that is framed and only 8x10, a zippo lighter that used to belong to her father that had his name engraved on it, a pair of nice powerbeats earphones by Dr. Dre she got for Christmas last year, a memory foam pillow, and a rollerball perfume from victoria secret of the heavenly scent as jacked from her sister the last time she saw her, haha.
Entrance:
Norway was cold and that was what Darcy hated the most about it. It was cold even when it was supposed to be hot, or at least when it was supposed to be hot in Darcy's mind. May meant warm weather, warm spring breezes and flowers and sunshine and.. not the freezing cold with mostly cloudy skies and rain that kept on for days and days sometimes.
Norway was cold so when she felt a warm breeze slipping through an open window (she had thought she closed the windows, it was raining after all) and felt her skin was impossibly hot, Darcy awoke with a start and with great confusion. It wasn't just warm, it was breezy and warm and the sounds of rain fall had ceased completely and holy geez, she wasn't inside.
She was outside.
She was sleeping on a bench.
Darcy awoke with such a start that she nearly choked on her own spit because she breathed in and swallowed too quick. She coughed noisily until she felt her breath return to her and then she was looking over to her right at an envelope that fell on the ground. Why the hell was her NAME on this envelope?!
She grabbed it and stood up quick.
"What?! WHERE- JANE- WHAT?!"
